I am an Australian living in China for the past 27 years. Most people know me as the first foreign TV host in China, and as host of the popular TV show “You Are the Chef” aired on the International Channel Shanghai, which draws in over 6 million viewers daily for the past 19 years.

As a live broadcast host on Oriental Shopping Channel I've completed up to $2 million in sales in ninety minutes, I am also a  consultant and strategist for medium to large scale international organizations and brands, to help them better understand the local environment, consumer habits and culture in China, and their strategic placement in the market.

Based on my  presence in the media, along with my hands on experience in China,  I am a regular guest on a variety of national TV shows, partnered with Alibaba, and have been interviewed by Australian Financial Review, Courier Mail and Harper’s Bazaar. I work regularly with government bodies such as Shanghai Government, Shanghai Women’s Association, UK Trade, Austrade, AustCham, and US Trade.

 

In my quest for bridging the gap between Western companies and brands, and the Chinese consumer I began Arete Group Limited a consulting and social media company which  creates  tailored strategies for international brands to enter the China market and effectively connect with the consumer, so they can grow and profit with confidence.

 

My multimedia and events company Chef Mama 料理妈妈 focuses on partnering with the government and Women’s Association to help better educate and train mothers in health, nutrition and parenting.

 

As I continue to grow my personal brands my focus is on impacting and improving peoples lives by equipping them with the tools to help them take back control and design and create a life that leads them to success, happiness and good health.
